About this route
A long-standing delivery route for Maritime-bred dogs going to New England buyers. We cross at Houlton and stay on I-95 all the way to the Boston metro area. Note the age rule before you book: the United States requires any dog entering the country to be at least 6 months old, so a young puppy cannot make this trip in this direction.

What you'll need
Since August 2024 the United States has required every dog entering the country to be a minimum of 6 months of age. There is no exemption for a purchased puppy. If the dog is younger than that on the day of travel, this trip cannot legally be completed, and no paperwork gets around it. Plan the placement date around the dog's date of birth. How the CDC form works.

- ✓ Microchip, required for CDC compliance
