About this route
Our shortest and cheapest US gateway into the Maritimes, and the usual meeting point when a breeder ships to Bangor International or hands off to us by ground. If you are a US breeder weighing which airport to fly a puppy into for a New Brunswick buyer, this is the one that costs the least.

What you'll need
- ✓ Under 8 months: health certificate dated within 72 hours of the crossing. A CFIA rule, and the most common reason a crossing fails.
- ✓ 8 months and older: no health certificate required at all. Rabies alone covers it.
- ✓ Rabies vaccination certificate from 12 weeks of age
- ✓ Sale receipt, if the pet was newly purchased, showing the date, a description, the words "non breeding", and the price paid. GST is payable on that value.
- ✓ CFIA import paperwork coordinated via our broker
Canada sets no minimum age to enter and no import quarantine. The 6-month minimum and the CDC form are US entry rules and do not apply in this direction. Full guide for US breeders.
- ✓ Running Red customs broker ($150 CAD + HST on animal value)
